Three Gold Medals for Boas Quintas in Portugal Wine Trophy

Boas Quintas wines have just been awarded with three gold medals in Portugal Wine Trophy, one of the most important wine competitions in Portugal.

Fonte do Ouro Red 2016, Quinta da Giesta Red 2016 and Herdade de Gâmbia Red 2017 were the awarded wines with gold medal in this competition that aims to recognize the best wines for Portugal.

Fonte do Ouro Red 2016 is a blend of Touriga Nacional, Alfrocheiro and Jaen grape varieties, with a six-month stage in French oak barrels. This wine is characterized by the aroma of gooseberry and cherry and the freshness in the mouth, soft body and elegant tannins (characteristic of Dão wines).

Quinta da Giesta Red 2016 have a brilliant ruby color. This wine is characterized by the exuberant aroma, marked by red fruits and floral touch. In the palate, it is a soft wine that confirms the fruit found in the aroma and a pleasant sensation of freshness. The tannins are present, but in an elegant way.

Herdade de Gâmbia Red 2017 is a young, direct and captivating wine that confirms the fruit found in the aroma and presents a good balance between fruit, acidity and tannins. Of bright ruby color, the ripe red fruits and the slight menthol stand out in the aroma.

The Portugal Wine Trophy, a competition that attracts wine professionals and wine lovers since 2014, counts this year with the presence of 50 national and international juries and with the participation of around 1773 wines.
