Dão Primores has distinguished Fonte do Ouro wines with gold medals
Fonte do Ouro Encruzado and Fonte do Ouro Touriga Nacional were awarded with gold medals, in the competition “The Best Wines of Dão in the Producer – Dão Primores”.
Fonte do Ouro Encruzado is 100% Encruzado grape variety. This wine staged four months in French oak barrels, with batonage. The color is green and the aroma has white and citrus fruits, with barrel notes. In the prove is fresh, very mineral and elegant, with a good structure. After taste is very smooth, pleasant and persistent. This wine goes well with grilled or oven fish, delic atessen and ewe cheeses.
Fonte do Ouro Touriga Nacional is 100% Touriga Nacional grape variety and has aged for 12 months in French oak barrels with malo-lactic fermentation. From ruby-colored laden and floral aroma to violets, bergamot and ripe gooseberry, well married with wood, this wine reflects the whole essence of the Touriga Nacional. In the palate, the tannins are robust but soft, and the wild fruits with a great balance and complexity. The after taste is very smooth, pleasant and very persistent. This wine goes well with game, spicy roasted red meat.
“Best of Dão in the Producer – Dão Primores” competition was organized by Dão Regional Wine Commission, already in its eighth consecutive edition. This event was aimed at exchanging ideas about 2017 harvesting and vintage.
