Winery built in record time
A winery built in record time to receive the first grapes of the 2015 harvest was one of the biggest challenges Nuno Cancela de Abreu faced in his professional life. As mentor and creator of Boas Quintas, after 4 months of construction, sees the receiving bin opened with the arrival of the first white grapes to the new Boas Quintas Cellar. “It seems a miracle but it is not!” – Nuno Cancela de Abreu
This is an historic milestone in the company path, written in the first person, by the winemaker Nuno Cancela de Abreu, who after having built several wineries to the service of others, saw the construction of the Boas Quintas Cellar begin in the 23rd April 2015 and about four months later, on September 10th, 2015, last Thursday, the grain tank receiving the first grapes.
With the positive trend in sales of the last three years the company felt the need to expand its production capacity and logistics undertaking the construction, in 2015, of this new winery in Dão, region of origin of the company, with an area of 1.600 m2 and a growth capacity that can reach 2,500,000 bottles sold. In addition to the significant increase in the amount of grapes for vinification, there is a strong investment in capacity and modernization of the bottling line to respond to the most demanding markets.
